I used to think that cooking was a trivial, ephemeral activity;
You make something that ends up in the toilet within hours.
But then I remembered that the great ones fed their people,
Moses brought manna from heaven,
Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes,
Mother Earth never fails to produce.
Feeding others is an act of grace,
And every act of grace is eternal.
